Life can be regarded as a phenomenon both profound and enigmatic, a concept which has captivated human minds since the beginning of time. Many have chosen to embark upon a perpetual quest to unravel its essence, seeking answers to fundamental questions that define our existence, while also hoping to grasp its mere importance in the process.
Life can be likened to a voyage, where each individual travels across the vast yet treacherous lands of experiences. As we navigate this tumultuous world, we encounter joy, sorrow, love, and despair. The twists and turns shape our character, pushing us towards personal growth and self-discovery. It is through the journey that we acquire wisdom, learn resilience, and find the courage to confront life's challenges. Yet some some prevail, while other crumble to such pressures, “for as long as there is a concept of victors, the vanquished will also exist.” For it does not provide us with equal opportunity, situations nor encounters. Thus, harsh challenges can either build a monster that learns to be unfazed by the hurdle’s presented to them, or create a fragile being that is unable to even fathom the concept of life itself.
The quest for meaning in life is an inherent aspect of human nature. While many believe that life's meaning emerges from ones pursuit of truth, beauty, love, or the realization of personal goals. Some find meaning in contributing to the welfare of others, while others seek fulfillment in intellectual endeavours. Ultimately, the search for meaning is subjective, and each person must define it for themselves.
Yet, I for one question my own existence, my purpose and my duty upon this earth, existentialism in other words. This is regarded as a philosophical school of thought, where one ponders about the individual's freedom and responsibility in shaping their own existence. It emphasizes the significance of personal choices, authenticity, and the acknowledgement of life's inherent uncertainties. It is often argued that in the face of life's inherent absurdity, one can find purpose and create meaning through their actions and commitments, yet what that purpose is for me still waits, unanswered.
Yet, I do not have the longevity to be able to study the world in the manner that I wish, for we are merely mortals and do not possess the gifts of the gods that have forsaken us upon this earth. Thus, recognising the fleeting quality of ones mortal existence can inspire one to cherish each moment and embrace impermanence. The awareness of our own mortality can propel us to lead lives that are meaningful, compassionate, and attuned to the present moment, yet the same driving force can lead one to wish destruction upon himself and possibly others, the inability to possess immortality can also push one act out the horrors of their hearts and mind
Thus, In our quest to unravel the enigma of life, we encounter a myriad of perspectives and ideological frameworks. Ultimately, the understanding and interpretation of life's essence are deeply personal and subjective, shaped by our experiences, beliefs, and values. As I choose to navigate this intricate realm of life, I shall embrace the various questions that I face along with those that lay dormant within me, for it is in seeking answers that I shall embark on a journey of self-discovery, purpose, and the realisation of my fullest potential.
